PAYMENTS

Payment Methods

Some of my items are listed for immediate payment via Paypal, which means that I have a lot less chasing up to do!  Other items may be combined before payment is made, so you may be able to receive a postage discount for items ordered together. Just "request total from seller" for a revised invoice when you have finished buying.

I generally prefer payment via Paypal as it keeps transactions fast and simple.

However I do understand that in some cases Paypal may not be the best form of payment, and may not be used by some customers. Please contact me if you prefer to buy and pay via another method, e.g. bank transfer.

Payment Times

For items that do not require immediate payment, I will always appreciate payment within 48 hours. If a further delay in payment is expected please contact me to let me know when and how payment will be made. I may send an invoice or a message to remind you to pay.

Non-Paying Bidders / Buyers

If you have purchased an item from me, but you no longer want the item and do not wish to pay for it, please send me a message to let me know. I will normally agree to cancel a transaction amicably.

If I hear nothing about the payment, I normally use the Ebay system to chase payments and to file non-paying bidder complaints. I may use this system at the earliest time available to me - from 4 days after purchase.
The first mail from Ebay is just a reminder to pay.
If I still receive no message or payment, I WILL continue to file a non-paying bidder complaint with Ebay that will go on your buyer record, and may impact your ability to buy on Ebay in the future.

Import VAT into the UK

From 1st April 2012, the UK government has decided to charge ALL Channel Islands sellers, regardless of size (i.e. including one (wo)man bands like me) import VAT at 20% on any item and its postage, shipped into the UK. This is a very destructive step for small sellers in the Channel Islands and is a lot of extra work and expense for me. I have had to raise prices on some of my items. Some items now include free Airmail delivery to overseas, to compensate for the higher price I have to charge UK customers - as Ebay does not have the facility to differentiate between rates of VAT.
