DVD Region Codes Explained
Every DVD has a code it is like a language that allows the disc to speak to your DVD player. Each area of the world has it’s own Regional Code as shown below:
- Region 0: All counties and DVD Regions, (all our items are PAL unless otherwise stated, PAL will not play in the US)
- Region 1: US, Canada, US Territories
- Region 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East
- Region 3: Southeast Asia, East Asia
- Region 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, the Caribbean
- Region 5: Former Soviet Union, Indian Subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, Mongolia
- Region 6: China
Important: - To play a DVD you need a player with either the same code as the player or a Multi Regional Player. For example a Region 1 (US) DVD will play on a Region 1 (US) DVD player OR a multi regional player (sometimes called a region 0 player). Your player’s manual should be able to tell you.
The only exception to this is a Region 0 DVD which will play on all DVD player, anywhere in the world.
We hope this helped.
