Differences between D.O.A and D.B.S and the consequences and solutions for it.
Let's talk about: D.O.A. , while many people give the meaning of : " Anything wrong on arrival " , the real meaning of it is : " Defective on Arrival " , defective as if the FUNCTIONS of the product are not working or they are not as described by an advertisement when the product is received by a customer, that issue is total responsibility of the factory or sellers/distribution of the product, and is for them to do something about that Defective issue, in many products, like small electronics or little devices, the product can be sent back to the source of the purchase and exchanged for another one with the specific functions as the original purchase, that is an easy way and right way to solve the issues, even for overseas or international transactions the fees covered by the user of the product and the seller of it, can be easily made up in a small compensation or extra gifts added to the original purchase and shipped with the replacement.
But for machines and devices that are heavy and/or big size, the policies are different and the process of manufacture too, in order to allow an easy way to deal with a D.O.A. without the need to ship the device back to the source.
The new machines due to globalization can be acquired directly in the factory or specific
distribution designated by the factory which not need to be in the same country where the buyer is. This practice allow the user/buyer to get his devices in lower price than the national market price for the same product, but also carry a consequence, the need by the user to understand the device , the construction and the ability to repair it himself with the correct parts sent by the source. Customers are misguided by themselves to believe that cheap prices comes with full national or obligation of exchanges like the little or normal devices,
when a product does not cost the same like in your national retail chain, means all that support, warranty service, people in phone lines and repair centers is not included in the price is exactly what the customer is not paying for and he should know that before buy the machine overseas or not in the retail chain of his/her preference.
These kinds of devices, which usually serve to repair, diagnose, monitor or sense any kind of pattern or other device functions are heavy and/or big and they are created with the customer knowledge in mind and the certainty that the customer can replace any part defective by himself in any case. So the machine is constructed like one of those games in which parts fit perfectly (modularizing) and are not totally secured one to other (soldering) in order to allow this practice by the customer himself and prevent the need to ship the item back and forward internationally which can even increase the cost of a product twice of the national market, instead of getting a better price for it.
If you as customer do not like to be in the need to replace your own D.O.A. parts, please buy in your own city, town, state or national retail chain of your convenience and not overseas.
D.O.A. also does not include issues occurred during transportation in which the functions of the machine are not compromised. In other words, bended plates, metal discolored or stained due to shipping practices is not really a responsibility of your source, and that is classified as D.B.S. AS IN: DAMAGED BY SHIPPING. If the FUNCTIONS of the machine are not compromise due to any not proper handling by shipping companies that does not classify any device as " Defective on Arrival " , or " Not as Described ", and when the customer sign a package, any insurance carry for shipping is voided and ended in the moment of that signature. That is something the customer needs to have clear when buying any product or device in any other country in the world, even if the package is insured, those insurances ends when customer sign as " received at satisfaction " , many shipping companies use the practice of not let the customer inspect totally the product inside before sign, because they know all the liability they are into it if they let everyone open products to check before sign " at satisfaction", mostly shipping companies obligate customers to " sing at convenience " which again is not
a practice created by sellers or factories, only by SHIPPING COMPANIES.
So, then what happen when you received a new product that you bought for less than market price in your country convinced that you were going to received everyone in order, there is the D.B.S. present then, some dents, bends, or exterior issues on the material caused by the shipping handling as any package coming from overseas easily can pass by more than 5 to 10 hands before reach any customer. Well unfortunately factories / source / seller cannot be responsible for a D.B.S issue unless the internal functions of the machine have been compromised by that D.B.S. and have turned the product into a D.O.A. , then the source/factory/seller is obligated to dispatch the parts considered Defective on Arrival, but is not responsible for any D.B.S. that occurred in the product.
Sources are full responsible for the function ability of a product that you receive, but are not and cannot control, prevent or do anything about D.B.S. produced to the metal plates, external parts or frame of products. Products are packed, protected and tested in the factories to resist a normal transit of hands to hands in a proper way, Human Factors and Emotions and State of Mind or Behavior different than this proper way to handle, enforced in the packages by shipping companies associates or airport or customs crews are not way to be handle by a better packing, or any other means of shipping protection, because that would have to increase the price in products , which is exactly the reason why YOU, as customer are not buying in your national retail chain or local store.
Once you have read this, and understand between D.O.A. and D.B.S. please proceed with your purchase, if you disagree with the way to handle D.B.S. and D.O.A. situations by your source/factory/distribution line/seller overseas, please do not buy the product and proceed to your local retail chain to do your purchase. This is a very clear explanation and differentiation between D.O.A and D.B.S and we hope everything is clear for you if you decide to buy your product in any overseas source of your preference.
