The Thule Roof Bar Range

When choosing a transport solution, always start with the load carrier. And if you want a guarantee, just look for the Thule trademark. Thule is the leading global developer of load carriers for cars. There is no better solution. Once you've mounted the load carrier on your car, simply add the accessories you need to transport your gear elegantly, safely and securely.

The Different Mounting Methods:

There are 5 main methods roof bars can be attached to your vehicle; Fixpoints, Roof Rails, Rain Gutters, Door Seals and T Track. It is important the method mentioned above is relevant to your vehicle; you can check the fitting instructions for more information. Sometimes the same model of vehicle can exist in different specifications eg With or without roof rails, with or without fixpoints etc. So it is inportant to double check the information above,.

For Vehicles with Pre-Installed Fixpoints - 751 & 753
Many cars are fitted with pre-installed attachments for load carriers, so called fixpoints. These ensure a solid and secure mounting for your roof bars.

The term Fixpoint can refer to a range of different mounting points, a few types are shown here:

For Vehicles with Roof Rails - 757 & 775
Roof Rails run the length of the roof of a vehicle. Roof Bars attach to these by clamping either onto or around the rails. Some Roof Rails, usually ones mounted flush to the roof, have a shaped profile to them or a grove on the inside. In this case the Roof Bars are designed to attach to these elements.

Door Seals - 754
For many cars the roof bars are mounted on to the door frame, around the area of the door seal. Fitting kits specific to vehicles ensure the roof bars attach securely.

Some of these models may require a short roof line adaptor on some smaller vehicles, please contact our customer support team for more information on these cars.

Rain gutters
This type of product has been produced and continuously improved by Thule for the last 30 years. The result is a load carrier that mounts into or onto rain gutters which run the length of the roof line, above the door frames.

T-Track on your vehicle

Some Roof Rails (the ones that run the length of your vehicle) have a may have a T-Track or similar on them, this is often in the form of a groove or a lip which enables special design Roof Bars to attach to them. Other Vehicles may have the T-Track directly on the roof of the vehicle, these to run the length of the roof

Roof Bars

Thule roof bars are available in 2 main styles; traditional square section, covered in black plastic, or Aluminum aero bars.

Please Note: End caps are supplied.

All of Thule's Aerobar's come with T-Track; this means they have a groove running the length of the bars on the top to enable the attachment of cycle carriers and Roof Boxes etc. This means that items that use the T-Track can be take on and off the roof more easily as they are attached at the ends of the Roof Bars and can be slide the length of the bars before securing, also enabling you to use the full width of the bars, even above the foot connecting the Roof Bars to the Vehicle
