How to Get Your Partners Ring Size

Whichever method you use, at the point of giving, it is better that the ring fits loosely than does not fit because it is too small. She can wear it for the moment and get it resized later.

Method 1. Preferred method. “Borrow” a ring she wears on the same finger of her right hand. Try it on your own little finger and see how far on to the finger it will go. Use the ring sizer on this little finger up to the same point, and read off the size.

Method 2. In play, make a ring out of a sandwich bag tie, or a piece of knotted string, and joke that it is her wedding ring. Then take it and keep it for sizing later.

Method 3. Ask your girlfriend flat out what size ring she wears on her fingers. If you want to be more obvious, ask what size ring is on her left ring finger. Play coy and pretend like it's for something else, but chances are, she'll know what you were asking for.

Method 4. Be honest and tell her why you want to know her ring size and let her pick out her ring herself.
