This Drill Brace is also like a ratchet wrench it can be used with screw driver bits in a clockwise or counter clock wise motion without lifting the bit from the screw. If  using it as a drill or with screw driver bits you can turn it  all the way in one direction or stop half way at any spot you please and ratchet back to start a second full or partial turn.

 

Handy when you are in a tight space. Very handy when theres not a power source available for drilling or driving screws especially around water,-- installing docks or decks when with one drop or slip its wet. Maybe you just prefer a more traditional way in your wood working. Its called a 12" brace but meassures from the tip of the chuck to the round palm  handle about 13.5" with 1/2" chuck and  wood painted high gloss handles.
