It's frustrating to keep coming across newbies who are copying my many years of hard work, but the real worry is the cheap, dodgy metals and fake glass "gemstones" they are using. Many of the pretty, sparkly, faceted "crystal" beads, including some very famous brands, and the faceted clear "crystal" beads correctly described in my designs, are made of glass and bare no relation to Rock Crystal/Clear Crystal and should not be described as such. Glass beads do not have the same healing properties that genuine, natural gemstones & crystals have. If you spot a design with very bright, uniform coloured beads, such as very bright blue Aquamarine or very bright green Peridot, bright red Carnelian or unnaturally purple Amethyst, they might just be cheap glass beads from China, that tend to retail for 1 or 2 £s for a strand of 60+ beads. My persoanl bugbear is that many sellers on eBay sell cheap glass Opalite as Genuine Moonstone and then inexperienced beaders are unwittingly using them in their designs! Moonstone is relatively expensive and can be seen in my designs. Bead buyers, if you see a strand of round moonstone beads for under a fiver, it is probably Opalite; a kind of bluish-white, translucent glass. Bracelet buyers, make sure you check your sellers feedback history!
