MENS SIZING

Vintage clothing sizes can differ greatly from standard sizes today. For this reason Charming Magpies provides the actual measurements of each item - so check these to get an idea if the garment is right for you. We take the measurements when the garment is laid flat, from seam to seam. HOT TIP: If you aren't sure whether something will fit, you can measure a similar fitting garment of your own to compare. Measure the key points of the garment allowing about 1 inch (2cms) extra on each measurement for ease of movement.

PLEASE NOTE: Clothing may have been tweaked and pinned to the model/mannequin to show the desired fit of the garment.

HOW WE TAKE OUR MEASUREMENTS
CLOTHING
1 Shoulders - Seam to seam
2 Chest - Armpit to armpit and then doubled
3 Waist - Measured around the waistline (un-stretched and fully stretched where applicable)
4 Hips - Approx 8inches below the waistline
5 Sleeves - Shoulder seam to cuff unless otherwise stated
6 Length - Total centre back length of item from nape of neck to hem
7 Inside leg - Top of inside leg to hem

FOOTWEAR
1 Length - Outer/inner sole from tip of toe to heel
2 Width - Measured at the widest point of the sole
3 Heel - Size of the heel
4 Height - Total height from the sole of the heel to the top edge

Please ensure that you check the measurements of items before you buy to avoid disappointment!

HOW TO MEASURE GUIDE
Measure your chest, waist and hips and compare your measurements with our size guide to help you determine what size you are.

• Chest - Measure around the fullest part of your chest - ensuring tape is level at the back.
• Waist - Measure your waist - the narrowest part of you - above your belly button and below your ribcage.
• Hips - Measure the fullest part of your hips - approximately 8 inches below your waist.
• Inside Leg - When buying trousers, measure from the top of your inside leg down to your ankle.
