At Conkeedar Trading, we have a love of all things cartoon, videogame and
most importantly character based; good characters with memorable features, good
depth and likeability are what make the movie industry, television industry and
videogame industry exist - without them, they would not be a shadow of what they
This section is dedicated to some of our favourite characters whose
merchandise we stock here at Characterheroes.
Disney is a huge global "multinational mass media corporation" which began
its journey in the "silent era" of the 1920's with silent animated cartoons. The
real success began to kick in with Mickey Mouse and his silly symphonies between
1928 and 1934. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength and has
incorporated literally hundreds of unique and entertaining characters in many
many different forms.
Examples of popular characters from
Disney would include the obvious and obligatory Mickey and Minnie Mouse, as
well as Daisy and Donald Duck, to the Little Mermaid, Aladdin, all of the Disney
Princesses - more recent examples of Disneys work would include Wreck It Ralph,
Monsters Inc, Monsters University etc.
Popular Disney characters from left to right, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck,
Minnie mouse and Mickey Mouse
For the Disney fans amongst us we
stock a fairly hefty variety of merchandise including
Disney T-Shirts for Baby Boys and Baby Girls, Scooters, Disney Plush Toys,
Larger Disney Plush Toys, full outfits for babies and young children,
hoodies, as well as baseball jackets and swimwear.
Hello Kitty was created by Yuki Shimizu who works for a Japanese company by
the name of Sanrio. Hello Kitty is of course a cat - specifically a Japanese
bobtail cat wearing her signature red bow. Unlike many of the characters in this
section the first appearance of Hello Kitty was actually on a purse as opposed
to in a game, book, cartoon etc - this first purse featuring Hello Kitty goes
back to 1974, a couple of years later Hello Kitty was localized and ported over
to the USA.
There has in more recent years been several Hello Kitty TV series for young
children, and an abundance of merchandise featuring the worlds favourite
Japanese Bobtail Cat has taken the world by storm. It is said that the marketing
and merchandising of the
Hello Kitty character and series is worth around 5 billion USD in a year.
The actual character of Hello Kitty is known in the programs as Kitty White or
Kitty Chan, and the official profiles say she was born in London, England.
Our Hello Kitty merchandise is predominantly aimed at a female audience and some
examples of the items we feature are;
Hello Kitty Girls T-Shirts,
Hello Kitty Plush toys, Backpacks, Messenger bags, baseball caps, books,
figurines and party supplies.
How much more classic and retro do you get than Warner Bros. Looney Tunes?
This was produced ORIGINALLY as a series of short films between 1930 and the
late 1960s. Popular characters you might remember from this series include;
Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, Sylvester the Cat, Tweety, Taz
the Tazmanian Devil, Marvin the Martian, Wile E Coyote and
Pepé Le Pew the stinky love skunk!
The Looney Tunes series is a worldwide franchise now and there have been points
in time where it outshone all of its competitors, even Disney. Bugs Bunny to
this day is revered by most as an icon in cartoon characters - he has also been
in more films than any other cartoon character at the time I write this (Theres
a fascinating fact for you!)
The legend that is Bugs Bunny.
We have recently introduced a range of
Looney Tunes merchandise for baby boys and girls, older boys and girls, and
even some stuff for adults.

Moshi Monsters began as a website for children where a child could choose
between six popular Moshi's to be their own and to name and nurture. The six
starter Moshi's were Diavlo, Luvli, Katsuma, Poppet, Zommer and Furi. After its
popularity was realised the merchandise was never going to be far away, a flood
of figurines, trading cards, magazines, toys, soft toys and even a very popular
Nintendo DS game soon followed.
The company responsible for
Moshi Monsters was called Mind Candy. There has been comparisons between
Moshi Monsters and Pokemon ("Pocket Monsters") though I am not personally sure I
see the link other than the word Monsters...
We offer a wide range of colourful designs of
Moshi Monsters T-Shirts for Boys and Girls as well as backpacks (school
bags), swimwear, activity books and scooters.
Mr Men & Little Miss
We all remember these classics from when we grew up right? that's because
they've been around over 40 years at the time of writing this - the first six
Mr. Men books were actually released on August 10th, 1971. The Mr. Men and
Little Miss series became popular because people could relate to them and most
importantly because they were cute and funny.
The first six Mr Men books...
These little books sold over 3 million copies. After the initial popularity
of the books, the BBC then immortalized the Mr Men franchise even further by
running a TV show in the 70's. Since then they are still going strong there is
now all sorts of media, clothing, dvds, cards, gift bags, themed medical goods
and loads more available globally featuring these little guys.
We offer a wide range of
T-Shirts featuring Mr Men and
Little Miss Characters
for adults and children (genuine, licensed, official UK merchandise) and also a
range of boxer shorts for boys and men. An example of some of the items we offer
Super Mario Bros
The most iconic videogame character of all time? Yes. Did you know in a
survey done in the mid 90's that Super Mario was more recognisable to children
in North America than Mickey Mouse? That's quite a feat for a portly Italian
plumber from Brooklyn. And to this day nothing seems to have changed, there is
no sign in a decrease in the popularity of the
Super Mario Bros
series. Over the years there has been a huge amount of different
merchandise, particularly in the "MARIO MANIA" period of the early 90's
where pretty much any company you could imagine was riding on the waves of
Mario's popularity from McDonalds, to Taco Bell, to Milk adverts for schools!
We offer a huge selection of colourful
Mario T-Shirts for boys and girls in both long and short sleeved designs, we
also have hoodies, baseball caps, collectible figures, keychains, retro DVD's of
the Super Mario Bros. Super Show and an unrivalled selection of
Super Mario plush toys
Some of the most popular characters from the Super Mario Bros series of
games from left to right Princess Daisy, Luigi, Mario, Princess Peach, Toad,
Birdo and Yoshi. In the bottom row from left to right Donkey Kong, Waluigi,
Wario and Bowser (known in the cartoons as King Koopa)
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog was Sega's answer to Nintendo's Mario and was also
intended to replace Alex Kidd as the sega mascot. The first sonic games came out
in the early 90's in north america. Where Mario would have been known for his
jumping, Sonic was known for his speed. His main rival is and pretty much always
has been Doctor Ivo Robotnik who in most modern games is known as Doctor Eggman
- a mad scientist. Sonics best friend is called Tails; a two tailed Fox who has
been his sidekick for over 20 years.
Although Sega lost out to Nintendo in the battle of the consoles all those
years ago, Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series of games have been pledged (along
with other Sega productions) exclusivity to Nintendo consoles for the next
couple of years. We stock a wide variety of
Sonic the Hedgehog T-Shirts for Boys and Girls, as well as long sleeved
jumpers, board shorts,
Sonic the Hedgehog figure sets, baseball caps, pyjamas and even boxer
