If you have purchased, or are considering purchasing, from us then please take a look at our selling policies as they may help to ensure a smooth transaction.
Returns Policy
Auction Items
We aim to operate in an ethical manner in all our dealings on eBay and, as such, endeavour to ensure our listings are described as accurately as possible. However, should we have made a mistake in the listing or inadvertently omitted a material defect then we will happily provide a full refund of the purchase price. Shipping costs may also be reimbursed at our discretion.
We cannot, however, accept returns that are the result of ‘buyers remorse’ – please remember that eBay is principally an auction site so, when the hammer falls you have bought the item! If, however, you contact us prior to shipping and state that you do not wish to proceed with the sale then we may well be able to assist but please remember that we still have to pay our listing fees and it is a great inconvenience to relist items after they have sold! If this is the case then we will contact you to explain the cancellation procedure. We are not in the habit of leaving negative feedback or even neutral so please do contact us rather than hoping that we won’t chase the invoice!
Buy It Now Items
Unless otherwise stated all our Buy It Now items are covered by our returns policy – if, when you receive the item, you do not feel that it is as good as we say it is simply re-package it and return it to us, and, provided that it is in the same condition as sent, on receipt we will give you a full refund of the purchase price. Provided that Positive feedback is left after we have re-credited your funds we will reciprocate and leave the same for you – even though the transaction has not completed.
Commission Sales
We are always happy to sell instruments on eBay on a commission basis and this can often be a good way of helping to finance a new purchase. We charge 15% of the final sale price with a minimum charge of £15 + listing and final value fees. For this price we will take care of photography and promotion of your listing as well as handling collection of payment and shipping etc. We will also obtain a second opinion as to value of the item where appropriate to assist with the sales process. We can, however, only sell items that we physically hold, i.e. the item must be delivered to us prior to listing. Please contact us for more details.
Shipping
Within the UK we generally use either the good old post office or alternatively DHL whose rates are fairly competetive. However, if you require insurance please let us know as the basic £35 service that we use to keep our shipping costs low does not have particularly good insurance cover ( it is £35 after all! ). If you require adequate insurance please let us know prior to payment and we will ensure that a quote is obtained for you.
For International shipments, depending on the size of the item, we will either use the Royal Mail Airsure or Small Packets service or, for larger and more valuable items, UPS. Both of these provide a level of insurance that is quite good but the claims procedure can take a protracted period so please be aware of this.
We always ensure that our items are properly packaged prior to dispatch but in the event of damage in transit we will do our utmost to assist with the claims process and endeavour to ensure a successful outcome. Your assistance and, on occasion patience, will, however, also be required!
