Fine: Like new, possible minor blemish

Very good: almost looks new, still has new lustre to cover, no creases to cover (paperback), dust jacket has no tears (hardback)

Good: solid book, no loose pages, cover may have some creasing (Paperback), dust jacket may have some nibbles and/or edge wear (hardback). If dust jacket is missing this will be mentioned.

Acceptable or Fair: a well read book, cover likely to be well creased and/or worn (Paperback), dust jacket torn, missing pieces or missing (hardback), may have loose pages (heavy creasing and loose pages will be mentioned). If dust jacket is missing this will be mentioned. If ex-library this will be mentioned.
