Big Tee Shirt was born in the year 2000 with 100 mixed cotton t-shirts made for us by a small local clothes manufacturer to our size specs.
To sell the t-shirts we set up a website, http://www.bigteeshirt.co.uk. The site was an instant hit and in the 10 years since has grown into one of the largest ranges of big and tall mens clothes on the internet with over 550 lines covering sizes 2XL-13XL.
In 2001 we were approached by ITV to supply the clothes for the original Fat Club programme followed by the original Celebrity Fit Club in 2002 in which we had to supply big clothes for Rick Waller, Tommy Walsh and the other celebrities including that lovely woman Anne Widdicombe. On a more recent note we also supplied some of the clothes for The Biggest Loser UK 2007.
In early 2002 we decided to leave our original home town of Nottingham and relocate to the east coast, eventually we established new premises in the small market town of Alford, Lincolnshire. We have also opened a shop, called Mr Big Stuff, in the nearby seaside resort of Ingoldmells where you can view/buy a good selection of our big and tall clothes.
Like any business we are evolving and trying to improve all the time. We now try to stock only the best value for money lines in plus size clothing that have consistent size specs and quality. If a product is not right for us then it is not right for our customers.
Our business ethic is simple.
“We aim to treat our customers in a manner in which we would like to be treated ourselves”
