Problems installing Epson T711 series cartridges
Did you remove the yellow tabs? If no reinstall removing the tab first you may need to clean the heads to push the ink through the cartridge. Ignore the nest steps!
If you did and you still have this problem it will be due to the newest cartridge version. Ours are the newest version this is due to Epson changing their printers and software to stop these cartridges working. These will work but to get the newest ones working in your printer you will have to uninstall the software and then reinstall the printer and the cartridges.

Unplug the printer from the Pc.
Open add and remove programmes (programmes and features in Vista) in the control panel.
Remove all Epson related programmes and drivers.
Open printer and Faxes in control panel and delete the printer, to do this right
Put your printer driver CD into the pc and install the drivers again.
Plug the printer in and you may have to reinstall the cartridges.
This method is not just for our cartridges but when all compatible cartridges are the newest version five ones this will have to be done because if not they will not work.

With the sole exception of a single click-of-the-mouse, the cartridge-changing process is exactly the same as if you were installing an original Epson one. The single most important point being; that the process is completed in its entirety, following the Epson software's prompts step by step, without skipping bits of it, etc. It is the Epson Software installed on your PC which 'controls' the cartridges throughout their entire work-cycle, by verifying the chip(s), monitoring the ink levels, maintaining the Print-Head, etc, etc. This is why it is so important to change cartridges under the direction of the Epson software.
If you haven't installed replacement cartridges before, here is a quick overview;
- Use the Epson software installed on your PC to complete the entire process.
- When prompted to insert a cartridge, remove the yellow tape-tab and ensure that no adhesive residue remains in-place before installing in the printer.
- When prompted about 'continuing with non-Epson cartridges' you must click 'YES' otherwise the cartridge will be rendered useless.
- When the software reports that the installation is complete, you may then need to run the cleaning utility (possibly more than once) to fully recharge the printhead with new ink and also to clear any old.
Brother Compatible Cartridges
There are no known issues with these cartridges and the installation process is simple and efficient. Just please remember that the cartridges will need pushing fully in. |
