MY ONE MAN BUSINESS PAGE

I have changed my account from Private to Business due to the law requiring me to do so. I do not view what I do as a business but more of a past time but who am I to argue.

In light of that I consider a buyer's satisfaction and fairness high on my agenda and hopefully my feedback confirms that. When you interact with myself, you are talking to a one man business who is at his computer far too much (well that is what er indoors says).

What happens after you pay

•  If I am in receipt of payment before 10am I endeavour to post the item the same day and receipt after that time will be posted as soon as practicable. I will also send the buyer a message once I have received payment and then again when the item has been posted.

 Why my shop shuts

• My family who live with me are aware of what I do but because I am the only one who knows how things work, when I am away for a few days or more, I have to close my shop. This is to avoid a buyer wondering where his purchase is if bought when I am not in a position to deal with the sale.
• If you are watching an item, continue to do so as on my return I will reopen the shop and 'business as usual' so the saying goes.

Talk to me

• I enjoy the interaction with buyers so if you have any questions about items please do not hesitate to contact me either before, during or after a sale.
• If you have a problem with a purchase from me, I would ask that you contact me direct as I am sure that through correspondence we can sort out the problem to everyone's satisfaction. A heavy handed approach from a buyer is not needed and you will not receive one from me.

Who am I.

• I am an individual who is given and sometimes buys old books which I sell on ebay.
• I am a retired professional who sells to keep myself occupied.
• Luckily I do not need to sell books to live and therefore I am not in a great hurry to sell a book or accept an insulting offer.

Postage

• You will find more often than not that the postage I charge does not cover the actual postage paid. I will also refund any overcharge I have made inadvertently taking into account packaging etc. I have been known to refund 50p in the past as to me it is a matter of principle.

Payment method

• I only accept PayPal as a method of payment as I feel this is quick, keeps matters tidy and gives both the buyer and I the protection we both need.

 MY SELLING PROCEDURE

• I will firstly list an item on auction for 7 days at a bargain price.
• If not sold at auction, I will transfer the item into my shop at a more realistic price so watch the auctions for a bargain.
• In the main the shop price will be higher than the original auction price.
• It will be relisted in my shop as soon as practicable following the end of the auction.
• I do not stop auctions so please do not ask!
• I do expect payment within 3 days so if you are unable to achieve that please do not bid as following that a non payer notification will be sent to Ebay.
• If you have a legitimate reason why you cannot pay within 3 days please contact me beforehand so that we can work things out to avoid you losing out on an item you want.
• If for any reason you are returning an item, I must point out that you must bear any postage or carriage charge.

Receipt of Offer Procedures

• What I do when an offer is sent to me - My responce depends entirely on what mood I am in at the time.
• Some are so ludicrous that I find it hard to hit the reject button due to laughing but at the same time I have been known to accept some cheeky ones as I was in a good mood.
