WHAT SIZE BIKE SHOULD I BUY?
When buying a childs bike it is natural to buy the biggest size that the child can get on, to get the longest life of the bike possible. However do not buy one too large for the child to “grow into” as this reduces the childs confidence and safety. Bikes with raised BMX type handlebars will last the child longer as they give more kneeroom than ones with standard mountain bike type handlebars.

Full suspension bikes have higher saddles due to the space taken by the spring.
ADULT BIKES
There are many variations of bike design, rigid frame for low cost mostly road use, front suspension forks for increased comfort both on and off road, and full suspension, usually for more off road use or increased comfort on the road.
An aluminium alloy frame reduces the weight of the bike.
Disc brakes are more efficient than V brakes and the pads last longer than brake blocks. It is important to clean the brake disc regularly with a disc cleaner otherwise the brake efficiency drops.
