eBay Parts Compatability Explained:
In the 2nd half of 2010 eBay released an excellent program to help buyers find the parts they need more efficiently & accurately. This program used in eBay motors is called Parts Compatibility. We are very excited about this program as our company (AutoPartsDirectToYou) has over 1 Million part numbers available to sell and the single biggest problem is attempting to accurately catalog this data.

What It Looks Like:

In the image below, you can see a list of vehicles that a specific part fits. Also it is VERY important to click on the NOTES link to the right of your specific vehicle as there may be more specific data needed.

The actual data contained within the parts compatibility tab is provided to eBay & us by a 3rd party automotive cataloging company. This data was originally intended for professional automotive technicians, service writers, & other automotive professionals that require this data. Since this data was designed for automotive professionals, the data contains numerous abbreviations and shorthand that may not be easily understood by do-it-yourselfers or anyone else looking for an auto part. I have been in the automotive repair industry for 20+ years and still come across some shorthand & abbreviations that I don't know. We are creating a glossary of abbreviations & short hand below. Also please do not be afraid to ask (Call us toll free at 1-866-770-2771) and if you saw the amount and type of questions that we get about this type of thing, you would realize there is no stupid question (well some are, ha-ha j/k). The only thing possibly considered stupid is not asking the question before purchasing. Our number one biggest headache that we & our customers deal with is buying the wrong part. Sure we screw up every once and awhile as we are human just like most of you reading this(aliens & robots never make a mistake), However the single biggest problem we run into is the customer purchasing the wrong part. Please know that we are here to help you in any way we can. We spend countless hours & countless dollars attempting to put our data in front of customers in an easy to read and efficient format for you to select the correct part. It does us absolutely no good to sell you the wrong part and we work very hard to prevent that, however you have a responsibility to read the eBay listings completely & PLEASE USE THE COMPATABILITY TAB.

You may start to see this program as more & more sellers adapt to using it and it looks like this:
