Tips: Best taken with digital camera in natural light - lighting from one side produces good results, with well defined light & shade (pose indoors, side on to a window for example). However, pictures taken with flash or in bright daylight may be useable. Don't worry about background, this will be 'painted out' anyway, unless you specifically request it be kept.
Digital Photos: Ideally send in at least 125dpi resolution, edited to size of approx 15cm (6")longest side, jpeg format. This is not critical – just send what you can – it doesn’t have to be top quality, just good enough to recognise the subject!
Printed Photos: If you want a portrait painted from an existing printed photo, that’s fine, so long as sufficient detail can be seen in the subject head / face. Just scan it, and send image in format described above.
