Here's a few things that you might like to know or we get asked about quite often...
1. We only post to the UK. This is for several reasons but mainly because it is a lot of extra paperwork for us as a business, dealing with Customs forms etc. as items over a certain value must be declared, even for a private buyer.
2. We will pack your items in lots of cardboard to make sure that they arrive in perfect condition, as there is nothing more frustrating than opening a package to find out that your item has been damaged due to poor, flimsy packing! I try to make sure that there is extra 'crumple space' around the item and always bag and board comics where possible.
3. Our P&P charges are set to be as fair as we can make them. We have standard charges for comics and GN's but where they seem particularly heavy or awkwardly sized, we do weigh them and try to work out the current postal rate. Please bear in mind that the charges include fees and the cost of packaging materials and may vary due to the Post Office's recent change to 'Large Letter' and 'Packet' size restrictions, so something which may not seem very heavy but is bulky in size could cost more than a conventionally sized book!
4. We do combine postage on multiple purchases, which can be quite a saving. If you go through the checkout and click on the 'request total from seller' at the bottom, we will send you a revised invoice. As a general guide, for comics our standard rate for one comic is £1.70, with 40p for each additional comic.
5. Your item is insured up to the value of £46 by the Post Office as standard. If you want Recorded Delivery, please add 75p to the P&P but this does not offer any additional insurance. For expensive comics i.e. over £75, we use Special Delivery as standard for no extra charge to you as this gives the extra cover. We always send a message to let you know when we have posted an item and generally use first class post so if you have not received it within a week, please contact us. It is sometimes worth checking with your local sorting office to see if they have tried to deliver it whilst you were out, as sometimes they don't leave a card. If you have no joy there, we will try to chase it up. Recorded and Special Delivery have tracking numbers which you can enter into the Royal Mail website to find out when they have delivered them.
6. If you pay by cheque or e-cheque, it will take a while for it to clear before we can post your item to you. this is particularly true for e-cheques, which seem to take forever, despite being an electronic transaction, so please be patient. For other methods, we usually post within a couple of days of receiving cleared payment, often faster, as we like to keep on top of it!
