Tom Wood
Tom Wood, A Best-Selling fantasy poster
artist, lives with his wife and daughter in the Ozark Mountains of
Arkansas. From his cattle ranch in Mammoth Spring, Tom Wood owns and
operates Meridian Design Works and Tom Woods Fantasy Art.
As unlikely as it might seem, this
fourth generation cattle farmer creates some of today’s most stunning
fantasy artwork. At the age of six, he announced to his family that he
would be “drawing for a living”. That goal forced him to leave his farm
and work for some of the most prestigious art departments in Tennessee,
New Hampshire, Florida and Connecticut.
Today Tom and his family live happily raising cattle & showing their
classic mustangs and of course, creating fantastical artwork.

Amy Brown

Name: Amy Brown
Title: Fantasy Artist
Birthday: January 18, 1972
Zodiac Sign: Capricorn
Marital Status: Married
Started Painting In: 1992/1993
Artist Most Inspired By: Brian Froud
Describes Self As: Stubborn, Willful, Hectic
For the Love of the Art
Amy Brown, fantasy artist extraordinaire, found her talents later in
life but enjoyed a relatively quick success. At age 20, she was given the
opportunity to paint her first fairy for a showpiece at the custom framing
company she worked for. Her first attempt at this art was sold within just
a few days. That was the springboard to the new career of the Amy Brown we
all know and love to this day.
Amy says she has always had a fondness for fairies, her greatest
inspiration being Brian Froud. Although from visiting her website and
viewing her elaborate art may make you think it was all easy, Amy says she
had to work at improving her art. "When I started painting, I was very
stingy with color, mostly light washes; it developed from there as I got
more comfortable with the brushes and pigments. When you paint as many
pieces as I have, you have to get the hang of it at some point. I
had always drawn, so that was easy--though I still have improved greatly
since I started watercolors," she shared in an interview with me.
Amy has been showing her work on a broad scale (world-wide) for about 3
years now, and has gained monumental recognition for her talent. She now
shares ranks with the artists that once inspired her. She modestly
attributes some of her success to mere luck, but I think most of us would
agree she has earned the acknowledgement.
How much time does Amy spend painting? Enough that she doesn't have
time for many other hobbies. She said "a piece can take anywhere from 15
minutes to several days to draw, and the painting takes 5 hours to a few
days, depending on how big the piece is." She paints at least 3 to 4 days
a week, and it is clear she truly loves what she does. (source by Karen L.
