Royal Mail have increased their postage prices and are introducing two new parcel formats which replace current packets and parcels – Small Parcels and Medium Parcels. These changes are effective from 2nd April 2013 and whilst the price increase for most of my items is relatively small (30p for the majority of my hair clips, shoe clips and jewellery items), all headband postage costs have increased drastically due to the new parcel size limits.
Headband parcels are now classed as a medium parcel (due to their size, rather than the weight) and as such postage and packaging for these items is now charged at £5.95.
Unfortunately I have had no choice but to increase my p&p prices as there is no way of packaging the headbands any smaller to reduce postage costs (less than 8cm deep to fall within the small parcel classification).
I hope my customers will understand that I am in no way seeking to profit from the postage price increases and I will always seek to reduce p&p costs wherever I can. Thanks to all for your understanding :)
