Filling And Troubleshooting Your Butane Lighter

Over 90% or butane lighter issues are the result of improper refilling or poor quality butane. We recommend and use Lucienne Butane, Available on eBay, Amazon and quality cigar shops.

All of our lighters are tested and are in working condition before shipment.

Warning:

Do not bleed or refill the lighter near an open flame or
other ignition source or while smoking.

1.    Bleed the lighter of any remaining butane.
Using a small screwdriver or pen, press the refill nozzle on the bottom of the lighter until all butane and accelerant is emptied. This will insure that all old butane and non-flammable propellant is removed from the lighter.

2.  Reset the flame adjust
Use a small screwdriver to turn the flame adjust to off (clockwise) position. This is the outer ring surrounding the refill nozzle on the bottom of the lighter. Do not over tighten. Then turn the flame adjust counterclockwise to its original position. This helps to remove blockages in the flame adjust caused by poor quality butane.

3.   Refill the lighter with quality butane.
Make sure to fill with lighter in upside-down position, and the refill canister is in an upside down position with the nozzle pointing down. Press nozzle tip of refill bottle onto refill nozzle of the lighter. Depress firmly for about 2 - 3 seconds.

4.  Wait approximately 2 minutes for the excess butane to dissipate

5.    Adjust the lighter flame as necessary.
Using the flame adjust ring on the bottom of the lighter Turn the flame adjust ¼ of a turn at a time. Counter clockwise to increase the flame, clockwise to decrease the flame.  Adjusting the flame too high can cause it not to light correctly. Too low a setting can also cause it not to light correctly.

Press the lighter ignition button slowly to ignite the lighter. This will help insure the igniter receives enough butane to light the lighter.
