1. What is CCD and Cmos ?

--- They are different kinds of Chips for image sensor. CCD is better than Cmos.

There are Sharp CCD and Sony CCD. Sony is better than Sharp.

For home use, Sharp Chip is good enough.


2. What is The Difference Between A Manual Iris lens, and An Auto Iris Lens?

Manual Iris Lenses are perfect for common interior surroundings with constant light, such as interior of shopping centers, schools, libraries, and offices. Manual Iris Lenses are ideal for such locations, because the iris setting of the lens only needs to be set once during the installation.

Auto Iris Lenses are perfect for locations, where light is constantly changing, such as outside parking lot, and building entrances. Auto Iris Lenses are powered through cameras power supply. The iris for these lenses automatically opens and closes according to the changes of the light conditions. If the light level is low, the lens iris opens up to allow enough light for optimum picture quality, and when the light level is high, it closes the iris so that incoming light does not overwhelm the camera and blur out the picture.


3. What is a Quad Splitter Processor?

---A Quad enables the user to view up to multi-cameras on the same screen simultaneously. It displays all cameras on the screen.However,However there is a slight drawback to the quad--When a quad output is recorded, it is recorded the same exact way as it is seen on the screen. Therefore if a quad view is being displayed while recording that’s the only way it can be retrieved on playback.


4. What is a Time Lapse Recorder ?

--- If you use a quad processor to split the screen for multi-cameras, to record , you will need a Time Lapse Recorder, which is a highly durable recording machines made to operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year using standard VHS tapes.


5. How to choose a low light camera?

--- To determine weather a security camera can perform well in low light application or not,the key issue is the camera Lux rating or Minimum illumination rating. The closer to zero the Lux rating the better the security camera will perform in a low light application.

6. What is Day/Night Camera?

--- The security camera which will automatically switch to a black and white picture at night for optimum performance in a low light situation and switch back to color once the light level is adequate.


7. What you need to know about security camera resolution?

--- The resolution of the video security camera is indicated by the number of horizontal TV lines that make up a picture. Each individual horizontal TV line is made of a number of pixels and the total number of these lines makes up the full picture you see on your screen. The more lines of resolution per picture the better the clarity of the overall picture will be.

Butthe camera resolution is not the only factor that determines the resolution you will get as the end result. When choosing security cameras and security camera systems you must consider the resolution of each individual component comprising your security camera system so you can select components with similar resolution.


8. How to choose a digital video recorder (DVR)?

1.Do I need a computer to run this unit?

No. this is a standalone unit. It works without a computer.

2.Can I backup/Copy to a CD?

Our DVR has USB ports, so you can download the record to your computer, then burn the CD or DVD.

3.How motion detection work?

The motion detection feature is built-in. You don't need to buy/install sensors, the DVR calculates change of pixels on video images -- when the pixel in the sensitive area which you set up changes, the DVR starts to record and buzz as you wish.

4.Does it work with my existing cameras?

Yes, it works with any security camera, B/W, Color, IR. PTZ... But make sure you camera got BNC or RCA output, if your camera has phono jack type or S-Video type connector, you need a converter.

5.Is it easy to setup and operate?

Yes it's easy and convenient. A manual with specific instruction comes with the unit.

6.Do I need to install/setup any software on this DVR like the PC Based Unit?
No. The software = firmware is loaded by the factory in a ROM CHIP not harddrive. any future software/firmware updates will be available on our company website and you can download them to the DVR via USB port.

8.Do I need a multiplexer and a VCR?

No, just hook up the cameras to the the DVR and connect the DVR to your monitor or TV, we done the connections.

9.How long will the unit record?

Good question. Sorry we don't have exact #. Depends on size of harddrive, # of motions, recording quality and speed. With a 250GB, anywhere from 96hours to 4000 Hours.

10.How about Internet remote viewing?

All of our 8 ch and 16 ch DVR supports IE browse. Two of kinds of our 4 ch DVR can be web browse. Pls contact us for detail.

It requires high speed internet e.g. DSL, Road Runner Cable Modem or T1 etc. This unit has built-in webserver so you can login to download this remote view client over the internet. It supports Static IP, PPPOE, and Dynamic IP address.

11.I need a complete system, not just DVR.

12.how to connect to a PC?

if you want to connect to a pc, the dvr must have VGA port.

13.how the dvr access to Internet?
